The Journey

BORN IN THE BUSH
Raised on the Road
Tracy Coster began her amazing journey back in 1979. The daughter of legendary bush balladeer Stan Coster, she was on the road performing from the age of 13 with Stan's travelling show, and her destiny was determined.
Five nights a week for ten months a year, Tracy lived through the experiences that shaped her father's immortal songs, and the 2000 Tracy Coster is a mature woman with a wealth of music, recording, stagecraft and memories to take her into the new millennium.
As a performer, she possesses a warmth and distinctive quality shaped by the endless road, and as a songwriter, she displays unique qualities. Tracy's music is a rare product born of experience. Through all those years of touring, Tracy developed an intimate knowledge of this country and it's people, and it became a major factor in her inspiration to write. If you listen closely to her songs, and the rich, husky voice you will feel the absolute sincerity of this woman and find yourself empathising with her sorrows and rejoicing in her triumphs.
Her touring and performing credentials are impressive. Tracy has shared the stage with some of Australia's finest, i.e. Slim Dusty, John Williamson, Anne Kirkpatrick, Gina Jefferies, Norma Murphy, Buddy Williams, Lee Kernaghan, Jimmy Little, Ted Egan, Denise Morrison and the list goes on. She has performed at festivals from Tamworth to Gympie; from Darwin to Nashville Tennessee.
Tracy Coster has reached an important milestone in her journey. Her musical itinerary takes in those wonderful qualities of Australia, and puts her firmly and uniquely on course at the head of the new wave of our bush balladeers who bring traditional values together with a more contemporary understanding of the bush and the city.
The music of Tracy Coster is a very personal journey, but everyone is welcome along for the ride, and it's guaranteed to be a totally enjoyable one.
2004
